A typical variety for the white wines in Bordeaux. While ripening early and budding late it still has a high production. This grape variety is usually used to add extra aroma to sweet wines. The wines have a strong aroma of grapes in their smell and taste and some tones of flowers. The variety is used for sweet wines. This variety plays an unimportant role, proven by the fact that they may occur for 5% only in de classified crus of the Sauternes.
