Especially the markets will give you a great insight look in the 'couleur locale'. Lyon has many of them, with all beautiful regional products and farmers to offer them to you. In the Rhône, the 'art of the table' is a must, and so are the fine wines. Many famous cooks are born in the region, is there any better proof? For instance Paul Bocuse , the famous founder of the 'nouvelle cuisine'.
2000 years of history in the capital of the Gaules : in Lyon, a day is too short to visit them all, for example Fourvière, Vieux-Lyon, Presqu'île, Pentes de la Croix-Rousse, now World heritage of l'UNESCO. Also the Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, Thermes de la rue des Farges, Les aqueducs, Le jardin archéologique du groupe cathédrale, Vestiges de Saint-Romain en Gal, Les arcades de Chaponost, Les remparts d'Anse, Les Mines d'argent de Pampailly, in Brussieu.
